Dan Garrett - Forward Into The Past

Dan Garrett's new lecture, "Forward Into The Past" (with a tip of the hat to Firesign Theater) is being presented throughout the U.S. this year and into 2013. The lecture features mixes old with the new featuring some great effects that he published (READ: "hidden away in magazines") that have never been presented in his lecture before now. His lecture is more than a trick, explanation, trick, explanation, etc. It is more of a show complete with music, voice impressions, stories and fun presentations.

His effects are straightforward, direct, commercial and within the skill level of all. Equally important, his effects run the gamut of close-up to parlor to stage and include ideas for children entertainers and corporate magicians. What more could you want?

053: David Stone - Trust Yourself

David Stone joined me for a chat about life, magic and movies. Enjoy this emotional roller coaster ride from his performances in the restaurants of St. Topez to being the Guest of Honor at the 2012 F.F.F.F. (Fechter's Finger Flicking Frolic). David exposed his soul in this in-depth interview as we enjoyed a few glasses of Dalmore Scotch late into the wee hours of the morning in Houston. He talked about his notoriety in France and Asia, how he got there plus an insightful look at his mentors, friends and inspirational role models. David gave this interview near the end of his triumphant 20+ city lecture tour of the U.S. and just before his return to France. Aside from being a wonderful magician, he is an inspiration, a gentleman, and quite charismatic. Warning: some language is R rated.

034: An Interview with Tom Craven - Magic's "Mr. Nice Guy"

Tom Craven traveled through Houston on his Fall 2011 lecture tour and had a little time to sit down to chat with me about his life in magic and his new book "My (Almost) 50 Years in Magic". He has had a rather full life with so many credits to his name and he has made so many friends in the magic world. He is indeed "one of the good guys" who makes fast friends wherever he goes. And he is always quick to share a trick or two.

Tom was a columnist for The Linking Ring (“Havenly Close-Up”) for over 21 years. He has a lifetime of experience that he tries to squeeze into the lecture. If you haven't heard his lecture or even if you have, I think you will enjoy hearing some of Tom's back story. In this podcast, Tom talks about his life and journey in magic and shares some interesting stories along the way.
