Luna Shimada is the second generation of the Shimada family dynasty but she has made her own way into the world of entertainment. Not to be defined by her father’s fame nor style, Luna has forged a successful stage persona that caused Jeff McBride to say, “You are a female me!” Indeed, her “mask” act is unique and not a copy of Jeff’s but is her own character. And that is just one part of her performances.
This week Luna Shimada talks about her difficulty as a child of entertainer parents who had their financial “ups and downs” both at home and abroad. She discusses the challenges of her early schooling and her parents fights to overcome xenophobia and racism in some countries.
